With college and school starting in August, the end of July is the perfect time for the Rec Center to offer a class in Women’s Self Defense taught by C.M. Smaby. The goal of this program is to leave you with self-confidence; the assurance that comes with knowing that you are equipped to face a personal defense emergency. From early prevention to last-ditch physical resistance, this class gives you the tools you need to deal effectively with situations ranging from uncomfortable to life-threatening.
The classes will be held on Tuesday, July 31 and Thursday, August 2 from 7-10:00pm. The Awareness Lecture will be held on Tuesday and the Thursday class will be Hands-on Defending. Click here for some pictures of the class held last February.
The class is open to all Rec Center members, Rockwell Collins employees and eligible non-members. Young women under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a female parent.
Pre-registration is required. The cost is $50. Class size is limited to 40.
